Sister McCandlish is a specialist practitioner. She provides minor illness appointments and is able to prescribe a range of drugs and medications.
Our district nurses are employed by the local Primary Care Trust and are based at the Nelson Hospital. They visit those who are housebound to carry out nursing procedures. Usually, this means the elderly, chronically sick or those who have recently had operations. They can advise you about incontinence or other home nursing aids.
Please ask a receptionist or your doctor to discuss or arrange home nursing care.
The district nurses can be contacted on 020 3458 5017.
Our health visitor is employed by the local Primary Care Trust and is based at the Patrick Doody Clinic.
She can give advice about healthcare, especially for expectant mothers and the under-fives, but can also give advice about the elderly or handicapped and may be a source of information for various medical and social problems.
The health visitor can be contacted on 020 8254 8310.
